For this season, a "mixed championship" was held again with the reserve teams of the Viennese professional clubs. This was divided into two groups (North and South), the group winners played in a play-off for the championship title. The Vienna reserve clubs had no claim to the championship title (they took the top spots in each group). Due to a league reform for 1929/30, there were no (sporting) relegations, only the Vienna reserve teams were eliminated from the league.
