Man United outbid Bayern’s offer to Goretzka - Chelsea in talks with Lewandowski’s agent
Bayern Munich are apparently setting clear limits on their future salary structure and, in the course of this, also want to remain tough in contract negotiations. As reported by Sport Bild, talks with the camp of midfielder Leon Goretzka are therefore proceeding very slowly. In the future, Bayern want to pay their players no more than €20 million gross per year in order to “keep the club financially stable in the long term” – the maximum is reserved for only a few key players.
The most important open personnel matter at FCB is that of Goretzka. The international’s contract expires in the summer of 2022, so there is the threat of losing him for free. Recently, Bayern already made this experience with David Alaba, who moved to Real Madrid without a fee being paid after failed contract negotiations and different ideas on his future salary. After initial talks with Goretzka’s management around Jörg Neubauer, the player’s team of representatives is now bigger with Thomas Kroth, who also looks after the needs of keeper Manuel Neuer.
The agents are “irritated” that the negotiations with the German record titleholders – contrary to what was actually intended – have not yet been continued. As the magazine continues, Goretzka’s side has annual earnings of up to €20 million in mind, while Bayern are prepared to pay “an estimated €10 to €12 million”. The player’s value is appreciated, but his proneness to injury is not disregarded.

The Red Devils, who apparently want to prepare for a possible departure of Paul Pogba, had already presented “concrete salary figures” that outbid the offer of Bayern, according to the report. In addition, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are said to be interested in Goretzka.
Chelsea interested in Lewandowski - Kimmich wants salary jump at Bayern
Joshua Kimmich, who has taken his future planning into his own hands, would also like to earn around €20 million – but the 26-year-old’s contract does not expire before 2023, which is why there is no rush in this personnel matter. In principle, the topic of salary structure plays a major role at the top club, and the top performers around Neuer and Robert Lewandowski are understood to be closely monitoring the development around the quality of the future squad. The top stars want a guarantee that their club will continue to compete for the Champions League title in the coming years, it is said.
Speaking of Lewandowski, according to Sport Bild, Chelsea would like to sign the veteran, should a transfer of Borussia Dortmund’s top scorer Erling Haaland not be realised this summer. Contact between Lewandowski’s advisor Pini Zahavi and the Blues had already taken place. The figures offered by Chelsea were “very interesting” for the Lewandowski side. Most recently, it was reported that the Premier League club would pay up to €175 million for Haaland.
