Sergiño Dest to join Barça? - Bayern Munich feel betrayed by Ajax

Bayern Munich appear to have lost the race to sign Sergiño Dest. According to various media reports from the Netherlands, the 19-year-old will join Barcelona from Ajax shortly. In that case, Bayern will have to look for an alternative. A development that has surprised Bayern Munich, the Rekordmeister had reached a deal with Dest some time ago, and they feel that Ajax negotiated a deal behind their back with Barça, making the most of the German's offer. 

The Catalonian radio station RAC1 were the first to report that Dest had told his teammates after the game against Vitesse Arnhem that he was going to leave Amsterdam. The Dutch magazine Voetbal International and the Dutch paper De Telegraaf confirmed the information. Dest is expected to travel to Barcelona on Monday according to their information.

On Saturday, Barcelona and Ajax had reached an agreement. The deal is expected to be €20 million, plus €5 million in add-ons. Unlike Bayern, Barcelona have no personal agreement with the US national team player, but that is only a formality at this point.

Barça appear to have the deal done, even though Bayern had personal details agree with the player several days ago. On top of that, Bayern have been working on the deal since January. But Bayern's opening offer was too little; only after Barcelona stepped in did Bayern increased their offer, which was still not enough for Ajax. Behind closed doors, Bayern are still trying to salvage the situation, but the Dutch club want to complete the deal with Barça and have told the Dest camp to no longer speak with the Bundesliga club.
