The most valuable national squads - England lead the way

It’s a big international summer ahead, with the 2024 European Championships in Germany, and the 2024 Copa América on the horizon. But during this November international break, which national squads boast the highest accumulative market value? Three international sides top €1 billion.

The €1b club

England - Squad value - €1.3b: Despite not tasting international glory at a major tournament since 1966, the Three Lions currently have the most valuable national side in the world. In terms of the most valuable assets from English shores, Jude Bellingham (Market value: €150 million) Bukayo Saka (MV: €120m) Harry Kane (MV: €110m) and Phil Foden (MV: €110m) top the list. England have 13 players valued at €40m or more.

France - squad value - €1.14b: Next up are the 2018 World Champions France. Beaten this time around in the final of the 2022 World Cup by Argentina, France’s squad market value still exceeds €1b - significantly higher than Argentina squad’s’ market value of €789m. Kylian Mbappé (MV:€180m) contributes to over 10% of “Les Blues” worth, with Eduardo Camavinga (MV: €90m) and Randal Kolo Muani (MV: €80m) the next most valuable. 

Brazil - Squad value - €1.04b: Completing the €1b club are the samba boys. Five-time World Cup winners Brazil haven't tasted glory since 2002 - even if they were to be champions in 2026, it would equal their longest run without victory in the history of the competition. But their talented current squad is still worth over €1b. Vinicius Junior is their most valuable player (€150m).  

Rest of the top 10

The fourth and fifth places go to Ibearic rivals Portugal and Spain. Portugal have a squad value of €905.5m, whilst Spain come in at €814m. They’re followed by World Champions Argentina (€MV: 789) and Euro 2024 hosts Germany (MV: €700m). Completing the top 10 are the European trio of Italy (MV: €582m), Netherlands (MV: €575m) and Belgium (MV: €498.8). But will squad value equate to success this summer.
