UCL: Kimmich win percentage higher than Ronaldo's - 6x Bayern in top 10

"We always believe in ourselves; that is the spirit of our team," Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer said after his side's 2-1 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League. Bayern Munich had long secured first place in their Champions League group ahead of the return match between Bayern and the Russian side. The club did, however, want to extend their series of 16 games unbeaten, the first 15 of those were won back-to-back. As a result, it is not a surprise that Bayern players dominate the statistic of players that have played more than 30 games with the most wins in the UCL. 

Among the top 40 players with the highest win percentage since the 1992/93 season are nine Bayern players—starting with Corentin Tolisso on 37th place (63.6%), over 29th placed Robert Lewandowski (64.9%), to 14th placed Neuer (67.8%) to fourth-placed Joshua Kimmich. The central midfielder has won 75.5% of his UCL games, a fantastic number achieved because, unlike his teammates, he has only ever played for Bayern in the Champions League. 

Tolisso played for Olympique Lyon, Neuer competed with Schalke, and Lewandowski started his Champions League career with BVB. As a result, other Bayern players like Thomas Müller (8th), David Alaba (7th), and Jérôme Boateng (5th), who have only played for the Munich-based club, are also ranked higher. Those three only played for the current title holders in the Champions League.

Bayern's Coman 1st - Messi misses out on Top 40

First place is also occupied by a Bayern player but someone who has also played for another club. Kingsley Coman made two appearances for Juventus in 2014/15—he lost one and won one of those games. The winger has won 79.4% of his games, that means 27 wins in 34 games. The two other players in the top three have a similar amount of games played: Nacho Fernández won 27 of his 35 games with Real Madrid, and former star Gabri won 26 of his 34 games with Barcelona.

What stands out, the players that dominate many other Champions League statistics are ranked low or not at all in this statistic. Cristiano Ronaldo won 111 of his 173 games or 64.2% of his games, which ranks him 30th. Lionel Messi is missing. The Argentine won 87 of his 147 games and, with a win percentage of 59.2%, failed to make the top 40.
